e²: Coffee with professions

As part of its e² initiative, Freudenberg has been supporting the non-profit CEPAC (Society for the Protection of Children and Adolescents) in Barueri, São Paulo, Brasil since 2016. CEPAC dedicates itself to working with socially disadvantaged children and adolescents. As well as supporting such children at school, the non-profit also runs many programs that help young people navigate their way through life.

“Café com Profissões” (Coffee with Professions) is one such initiative that provides young people aged 11 to 17 with an insight into the world of work and also identifies career possibilities for them.

In June this year, the CEPAC organization once again sponsored “Coffee with Professions”. Employees from Klüber Lubrication Brasil were on hand at the event to talk about their own professional careers.

Their accounts provided the young people with initial insights into the demands of the labor market, gave more detailed information about specific professions and also drew attention to the potential hurdles and challenges.

The event, which was part of a “Professions Fair,” attended by 39 professionals from 14 different companies and 170 students, also inspired those coming to the end of their school careers to look for their first job.

About CEPAC

Presentation about emotional intelligence

One highlight was a presentation on emotional intelligence by Mariana Sarmento, HR Director South America, and Australia of Klüber Lubrication. Speaking about the presentation, Márcio Cavalcante, CEPAC’s project coordinator said: “In this amazing presentation on emotional intelligence by Mariana, the young people were able to learn more about how to deal with emotions. More specifically, how to perceive, process, understand and be able to manage emotions. This is a topic that the young people could identify with, and which also dispelled many a doubt. We managed to achieve our goal of awakening the interest of those who had never heard of it.”

It’s been an honor to participate in “Coffee with Professions.” I learned a tremendous amount from working with such terrific young people.

Sarmento said: “It’s been an honor to participate in “Coffee with Professions.” I learned a tremendous amount from working with such terrific young people. And I’m delighted I was able to support them. Even if only one person takes something away from this, it’s been more than worth my while.”

A big thank you goes to all the Klüber employees who supported the event.
